STORY:
We purchased these green coffee beans from Apex Coffee Imports.
Draiton Moreira Mendonça's parents have been producing coffee since 1970 on the Cachoeira farm. In 1995, Draiton’s parents gave him 2 hectares of land as a way to get him started in the family business. He faced many challenges in the beginning due to volatile climate conditions and economic changes. It forced him to find new strategies to preserve, maintain, and improve his crop. For example, Draiton makes sure his plants are healthy by using only sustainable, high-quality ingredients for his fertilizer. In 2009, his hard work was realized when his coffee was placed in a quality contest in Cerrado Mineiro. He was one of few who received excellent feedback from the judges for his distinctive and flavourful coffee.
